Good afternoon! Welcome to Shanks. We’re happy to report that one bet from last weeks card has hit. Justin Suh Top-20 +200. Other than that, nada. This week we’ve got our eyes on the Butterfield Bermuda Championship, lines for that tournament are below.
Golf Trivia: This weekend Adam Long hit 56/56 fairways at the WWT Championship. That’s the first time it’s happened on Tour since ‘92. Who did it then? Answer below.

Super Quick Recap: WWT Championship

On Saturday morning, we mentioned that the WWT Championship was the most compelling event of the Fedex Fall because of the storylines.
There were a handful of guys vying for their first win on tour, there were some over-forty (old) guys out there grinding away for a win, and a few tour winners sprinkled in for good measure.
Heading into the 72nd hole, there were four players within a shot; Camilo Villegas, Matt Kuchar, Justin Suh, and Erik Van Rooyen.
It was Van Rooyen and his storyline which shined through in the end. He poured an eagle putt directly into the center of the cup. Walk-off winner. Emotional roar.
The eagle capped off an incredible eight-under back nine and it was an emotional scene. Not just because he’s missed about as many cuts as he’s made in an up and down year, or because he’d just notched his second career tour victory, but because his best friend in the world is dying of cancer and he dedicated this tournament to him.
It’s just incredible to have the focus needed to win a golf tournament with those kind of emotions hanging over you.
Erik Van Rooyen so emotional after the victory: “When you’re playing for something bigger than winning some silly trophy, it puts it into perspective.”

Heckuva back-nine, heckuva putt, heckuva win.
Van Rooyen was on the bubble at No. 125 in the Fedex Rankings heading into the weekend. He has now zoomed up to No. 63.

Tiger Walks
The most popular clip on social media this weekend?
Yep, The GOAT was on the bag for Charlie Woods for 54 holes. Which means he walked 54 holes while carrying a bag, for his son, which means he must be fully healthy right? Right?!
It's #movingday at #Coushatta!
The fog rolled in early this morning but the players are out, led by Charlie Woods, Owen Coniaris and Landon Abalateo for the Boys 14-15 Division.
Good luck to all the players looking to move on up the leaderboard!

Of course there were a bunch of people speculating about when he will make his return to competitive golf. Could we see him at his own event, the Hero World Challenge, the first week of December?

PGAT Whittles Investors Down To Five
According to an exclusive report from Eamon Lynch at Golfweek, the PGA Tour has whittled its list of potential investment partners down to five groups.
“The five companies still under consideration are: Fenway Sports Group (FSG), which is partnered with investors Steven Cohen and Arthur Blank; Liberty Strategic Capital; Acorn Growth Companies; Eldridge Industries; and a group of influential individuals being referred to as Friends of Golf. Beyond the five groups bidding to be the Tour’s main private equity partner, several other companies remain in the conversation as potential investors of additional capital.”

There’s only two tournaments left in the Fedex Fall schedule. The Butterfield Bermuda Championship is one of them.
Akshay Bhattia seems to really enjoy himself on “coastal courses” and Brendon Todd finished T7 here last year.
Picks will be made on Wednesday.
