Good afternoon. Could Bryson DeChambeau be leaving LIV? The rumors seem to be unfounded and he’s under contract until the end of 2026. The Florida Swing tees off Thursday at PGA National, home of the Bear Trap, and there are a couple of key storylines to watch.
First up—Jordan Spieth is making his first-ever start at PGA National (hard to believe, right?). He needs a strong finish to qualify for next week’s Arnold Palmer Invitational, which is a wild sentence to type, but that’s where he’s at right now. He showed flashes at the WM Open, but his inconsistency makes him a tough bet.
Then there’s Luke Clanton—if he makes the cut, he locks up his PGA Tour card. No pressure.
Beyond that, this week’s field is considerably stronger than last. Shane Lowry, Sungjae Im, Russell Henley, Min Woo Lee, Sepp Straka, and Rickie Fowler are all teeing it up in Florida. Should be a fun one.
