Preview: The Travelers Championship

Unlike last week at Pinehurst No. 2, TPC River Highlands will see plenty of under-par scores.

Just like last week, there will be lots of excitement. This tournament has become one of the Tour's most popular events with fans.

As a signature event, it features a loaded field and a larger purse. However, Rory McIlroy will not be participating; he announced on social media that he will be taking a few weeks off, thus withdrawing from the Travelers. Totally understandable considering his heartbreak last weekend.

His next appearance will be at the Scottish Open, taking place the week before The Open next month. (How is the final major of the year almost here already?)

Let’s hope for another exciting finish at The Travelers, which has had five of the last thirteen tournaments decided by a playoff.

News: Tiger Woods Given Lifetime Exemption

Tiger Woods has made history again.

The PGA Tour has granted him a lifetime exemption to all future signature events, starting next year.

The PGA Tour policy board created this special exemption to honor Woods' incredible achievement of surpassing 80 career wins.

This means Tiger can now compete in all eight signature events on tour for the rest of his career, excluding majors.

At 48, with 82 PGA Tour titles (including 15 majors) under his belt, Tiger has had a limited schedule recently due to injuries, but if his health permits, it’s possible we will see more of him next year than we did the past three years.
