This weekends golf recap is here.
Everything you missed from this past weekend in golf.
Greetings, salutations, and welcome to Caddyshanks. We cover the game of golf, but in a way that's fun and not condescending, like your favorite aunt.
Here's what we've got for ya today:
Quick Recap: Zurich Classic
LIV Has It's Biggest Weekend
Better Than Your Desk
Golf Shots Heard Round The World
For The Group Chat
Golf Thing We'd Buy If We Weren't Broke
Quick Recap: RBC Heritage
👑 Winners: Davis Riley and Nick Hardy - $2,485,400 ($1,242,700 each)
Come Sunday, six teams were in the thick of it, but team Riley/Hardy made four birdies over the last six holes to nab the lead by two strokes over Adam Hadwin and Nick Taylor.
Pretty Rad, Dudes: Imagine being Riley/Hardy right now. You're 26/27 years old, you just set the tournament record (-30) at the Zurich, both of you notch your first PGA Tour wins, and you get paid $1.24 Million each.
Oh, and you just earned a two year tour exemption and qualified for the PGA Championship happening next month in Oak Hill, NY.
The only thing not rad about their win is that we didn't pick them.
Davis made birdie from the fringe on 17 to put the pair in the lead for good.
Davis Riley is clutch!! 🔥
@NickHardy8 and @davisriley68 extend their lead to two after the birdie on 17 @Zurich_Classic.

What about everybody else?
A quick rundown of the rest of the leaderboard.
Patrick Cantlay / Xander Schauffle: Last years champs finished T4. There were noticeably less complaints on social media about Cantlay's pace of play this week.
Maybe cyber-bullying does work?
Wyndham Clark / Beau Hossler: Despite being on top of the leaderboard at the end of each of the first three rounds, they couldn't hold on Sunday. They had no bogeys the first three rounds and then made three bogeys in the final round. A solo 3rd finish for the duo.
Keith Mitchell / Sunjae Im: The Georgia Bulldogs fans started the day one off the lead, but ended up finishing 6th at -25.
You can see the full leaderboard here.
LIV Has It's Biggest Weekend
From the absolute chaos for a hole-in-one to a huge turnout by fans overall, LIV is finally seeing their brand take flight. If you tuned in this weekend to see “Golf but Louder”, you certainly got it. And while it was a bummer to not see Cameron Smith (-15) win on his own turf, it was still insane to watch the absolute clinic that was put on by tournament winner, Talor Gooch (-19), who was up by 10 freaking strokes at one point.
On just about every front, LIV was successful and delivered on all promises during this event. Over 90,000 fans showed up to support these professional golfers over the course of the 3 day tournament, and were able to generate a lot of social media hype thanks to LIV’s version of the Waste Management Open/TPC Scottsdale party hole doppelganger, aka, The Watering Hole. It also helped that 4 Aces, one of the best and most popular teams on the LIV tour (Dustin Johnson, Pat Perez, Patrick Reed, Peter Uihlein) clutched their first win of the season.
With all this success from the weekend, it has golf Twitter on fire right now. It’s mostly skeptics and a lot of crystal balling. But one thing is for sure, people are paying attention. And golf fans everywhere are wondering if this excitement and momentum can continue to Sentosa Golf Club in Singapore, where LIV is headed next, on April 28-30.
Wild Week on Kornferry Tour
First, there was Shuttlegate, first reported by Monday Q.
Basically, a few players broke Model Local Rule G-6, which states, “A player or caddie must not ride on any transportation. A player operating under a stroke and distance penalty is always authorized.”
This whole mess, which probably seems dumb to the average golf fan, because it is, may have cost Wilson Furr his job.
Then, on the other side of the tournament you had a playoff between Logan McAllister (seeking his first win) and Scott Gutschewski looking for his first win in 15 years.
Gutschewski hit a 40 foot bomb to win it. Think it meant something to him?
It has been a long time coming for @S_Gutschewski. 🥺

How many of your friends think they can beat Nelly, if she played left handed?
Nelly Korda's lefty swing is absolute filth 😍

Golf Thing We'd Buy If We Weren't Broke
I’m not even sure if this thing is for sale, but I’m sure if it was, I certainly don’t got the money. TaylorMade announced its Chevron Championship major staff bag and accessories that are inspired by the Houston as in “Houston, we have a problem, I’ll never be able to get a bag this dope.”
So yea, Nelly Korda got to use it for the LPGA major that took place in Houston this past weekend. I would love to get my hands on it, but somehow I think its sacrilegious to put my beat up old clubs, sun bleached golf balls (that I found in a swamp), stinky old raggedy towel, and range finder with no batteries into that beauty of a bag. It’s like getting into a Lamborghini with muddy boots. And also you don’t have a drivers license.
That's all folks! See you Wednesday where we'll make some picks for Zurich!
