⛳️ Scottie Is Inevitable
Plus: The best golf shirt $15 can buy you.
Good afternoon. Fun fact, Colonial Country Club has held the Charles Schwab Challenge since 1946, making it the longest running non-major tour event to be held at the same venue.
Scottie Scheffler is the favorite there this week at +225.
Would you bet against him?
Scottie Scheffler Dominated Golf Doing This
Picking the right target. It's one of the most underrated strategies in the world of golf. Should I aim at that tree behind the green? Should I try and attack the pin or play away from it? What is the actual yardage I am trying to carry?
In this episode of The Game Plan, Golf Digest Senior Editor Luke Kerr-Dineen dives into the often underutilized "Green Zone" strategy that Scottie Scheffler used to dominate golf in 2024 to discover whether or not those aggressive lines into greens are actually worth the risk for pros and amateurs alike.
Get Better At Golf:
Quick Recap: The PGA Championship

Let’s start with Saturday…
Scottie Scheffler finished the third round by playing his last five holes in five-under.
Eagle, Birdie, Par, Birdie, Birdie.
In that stretch, he fired off eight straight near-perfect golf shots. Most of us would be thrilled to string together two solid swings, let alone eight flawless strikes in a major championship. Filthy stuff, but normal for Scottie.
By the time he walked off the 18th green Saturday, it felt like it was over. No chance he blows a five shot lead.
But golf being golf, Scheffler stumbled through a shaky front nine, and suddenly found himself tied with none other than Jon Rahm (remember him?) as he made the turn.
Rahm had been looking like vintage pre-LIV Rahm most of the weekend, reminding us that golf is better when the best guys are dialed in (duh). But a brutal stretch - playing his final three holes in five-over - knocked him out of contention entirely.
After that, it was back to the Scottie Scheffler Show.
With this latest major win, Scheffler now holds two of the four majors, needing just the Open and the U.S. Open to complete the career Grand Slam.
Knowing Scheffler, achieving that feat feels inevitable—less a question of if, and more a matter of when.

The Great Club Throw Debate
Is it time for the PGA Tour and majors to make fines public?
Wyndham Clark with a super dangerous club throw. Breaks his driver.
They get fined for this, but it’s all kept secret to protect the players. Another problem with a player-run sport.

I’m interested to hear what the Caddyshanks community thinks about this.

Thing We’d Buy: Amazon Essentials
If you want a nice quality golf shirt without spending $100 on it, this is the one!
Yes, Amazon makes maybe the most underrated golf shirt in the game. No, I’m not joking. No, I’m not being paid to say this. If you want to see my Amazon receipts, I’ll show them to you.
I bought about ten of them myself in different colors and they are just as good as any golf shirt I own, except they are only $15!
