Genesis Invitational Update: Rory Chasing
Jacob Bridgeman and Marco Penge (-12) lead after a soggy 36 holes at Riviera.
Both fired 64s in Round 2. For either one, a win in a signature event would be career-changing. Neither has won on TOUR.
Unfortunately for them, there’s a lot of firepower right behind them.
Rory McIlroy (-11) sits solo third, one back of the lead, with just one bogey through two rounds.
And behind him? A stacked group with serious pedigree.
Scottie Scheffler (E) is not in that mix. He battled to make the cut on the number and sits 12 back. Credit to Scottie for grinding it out when it would’ve been easy to enjoy a long weekend in LA with the family.
But seriously - what’s going on with these brutal first rounds?

Xander Schauffele and Adam Scott are right there at 9-under.
Just behind them is a another twosome at -8, including Min Woo Lee and Max Greyserman.
