Let’s have a little fun this week.
The Zurich Classic is the only team event on the PGA Tour schedule, and while it might be one of the toughest to bet, it’s easily one of the most entertaining stops of the season. You’ve just got to embrace the chaos that comes with team golf.
In case you need a refresher, here’s how it works:
Two-man teams compete over four rounds, alternating between four-ball (best ball) and foursomes (alternate shot). It’s a format that not only tests individual skill but also how well players can strategize and gel with a partner.
The field always brings a mix of big names and relative unknowns, which makes for some fun pairings and plenty of unpredictable outcomes.
For example, last year, Lowry & McIlroy faced off against Martin Trainer & Chad Ramey in a playoff. The Irishmen won.
This ultimately lead to Rory and Shane up on stage singing Don’t Stop Believin’ by Journey.
