Quick Update: The 153rd Open Championship

You’re not going to believe this - Scottie Scheffler (-10) is in the lead at The Open Championship.
He shot 7-under yesterday, his lowest round in a major ever, to take the lead from Matt Fitzpatrick (-9). They both fired on all cylinders yesterday, carding 8 birdies each.
They’ll be paired together this morning. They go off at 10:35 AM ET.
Just behind them are Brian Harman, who won the Open two years ago and seems well suited to links golf, and Haotong Li of China, who most golf fans have never heard of until this week.
Outside of those three, no one else is within five shots of Scottie Scheffler.
Notable Contenders:
T5. Rasmus Hojgaard, Tyrrell Hatton, Robert MacIntyre, Harris English, and Chris Gotterup (-5).
T10. Tony Finau, Nicolai Hojgaard (-4).
T12. Rory McIlroy, Jordan Smith, Lee Westwood, Sam Burns (-3).
Players to win a Masters, PGA and Open all before age 30:
Gary Player
Jack Nicklaus
Tiger WoodsEnd of list. Scottie Scheffler can join them this weekend.
