The list of multiple time winners on the PGA Tour this year now includes Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy, Sepp Straka, and… Ben Griffin.

Yes, the same Ben Griffin who quit playing golf in 2021 to work in insurance.

In 2022, he got some backing from friends and family and quit his desk job to go to Q-school. He got through the highly competitive gauntlet and earned his tour card.

It wasn’t until this year that he broke through.

First, he teamed up with Andrew Novak in NOLA and they were both able to nab a shared tour win - a huge deal for both of them as it carries a lot of the same perks as an individual win, like a million bucks and some Fedex points. That win came down to the 72nd hole, just like yesterday, for Ben Griffin.

During a difficult round at Hogan’s Alley that saw wind gusts up to 30mph, Matti Schmid simply would not go away.

He chipped in on the 72nd hole for birdie, which forced Ben Griffin to get up and down from a difficult lie (he had to stand in the bunker and hit it out of the rough).

He hit the chip shot to four feet and made the putt. Another million bucks and 500 Fedex Points for Ben.

Pretty crazy for a guy who was working a desk job like the rest of us a few years ago.
