Preview & Picks: WWT Championship

This week brings us to Mexico, specifically the Tiger Woods designed El Cardonal at Diamante, where the WWT Championship will take place.

It’s the first of the final three events of the Fedex Fall and there are still a bunch of players jockeying for position inside the Top 100. They need to be inside that number to maintain full status on the PGA TOUR in 2026.

If you remember from the previous two iterations of this event at Tiger’s place, it’s only real defense against low scoring is the wind - there’s not much of it on the forecast this week, so expect a birdie-fest.

In 2023, Erik Van Rooyen won with a score of 27-under and last year Austin Eckroat won at 24-under.

You’d think that this course would favor bombers, but Austin Eckroat and Carson Young, who finished 1-2 last year, are anything but.

Here’s a shortlist of guys who need to have a big week this week:
