We keep picking Jordan Spieth to win because he’s playing well.
We keep picking Scottie Scheffler to win because… he’s Scottie Scheffler.
So far, neither Texas native has made us look especially sharp.
But hey — maybe this is the week. Home state, soft field, and they’re both at the top of the odds board.
The Byron Nelson isn’t exactly stacked this year — only Scottie and Sungjae Im are ranked inside the world’s top 20. But it is usually a shootout. Since 2018, the winning score hasn’t been worse than 23 under.
That said, Lanny Wadkins led a full course renovation right after last year’s tournament. So maybe things play a little tougher this time around. You can read more about that here.
