Plus: Ryder Cup Fallout Continues, Bobby Mac Strikes Back, & More.

Good Afternoon. The discourse around American fans at the Ryder Cup has already become overplayed. Yet, it’s all that the media wants to focus on. I have heard and seen more terrible things on a random Sunday at Lincoln Financial Field. No one was hurt, the Euro’s won, let’s move on.

Preview & Picks: Sanderson Farms Championship

Nothing gets the people going quite like the Sanderson Farms Championship.
Okay, maybe that’s not exactly true. But it has been on the schedule for the last decade, and it’s hugely meaningful for the golfers trying to crack the Top 100 and secure their TOUR cards.
For them, it means everything - their livelihoods are on the line.
For most golf fans, though, the Fall Swing just isn’t that exciting.
The first of the seven fall events was the Procore Championship, where almost the entire U.S. Ryder Cup team teed it up (spoiler: it didn’t help). Scottie Scheffler won (shocker) over Ben Griffin. But that was a one-off; that level of talent isn’t usually on display during the Fall Swing.
This week, at the Sanderson Farms Championship, just four of the top 50 players in the world are competing: Akshay Bhatia, Min Woo Lee, Sam Stevens, and J.T. Poston. European Ryder Cup member Rasmus Højgaard is also in the field.
It’s a full-field event (132 players) with a cut—remember those?

Shanks Picks

Winner: Akshay Bhatia +2000 Akhsay is the favorite this week and the best player in a weak field.
Winner: Michael Thorbjornsen +2200 Thor had a good outing at the Procore a couple weeks back, and a solid season before that. His game fits the course well too (bomber).
Winner: Rasmus Hojgaard +2500 Rasmus is the lone Ryder Cup player in the field & he was also 0-2-0 in the event, so we’re looking for a bounce back for him this week in a low pressure environment.

With Eight Sleep
The Best Athletes Take Their Recovery Seriously
I always blamed the late-round slump on my swing. By the 13th hole, my back felt like it had carried 36 instead of 9.
Turns out, the real problem wasn’t on the course - it was in my bedroom. A mattress that left me waking up stiff meant I was starting every round already behind.
Since switching to Eight Sleep, it’s like I’m showing up with an extra gear. The Pod keeps the bed perfectly cool, tracks my recovery, and I actually wake up loose and ready to play. Now I can walk off 18 feeling like I could go another nine.
If you’re dragging your body through the back nine, it’s probably not your driver—it’s your mattress.
Eight Sleep changed that for me.

Golf Trip Highlight: Streamsong Resort
Streamsong is unlike anything else in the Sunshine State. With three award-winning courses designed by Tom Doak (Blue), Bill Coore & Ben Crenshaw (Red), and Gil Hanse (Black), the resort has become a true golf mecca where architecture buffs and buddies’ trips collide.
Each course has its own personality: the Red with bold contours and dramatic green complexes, the Blue with sweeping fairways and a strategic edge, and the Black stretching across vast, open sandscapes with some of the most adventurous green sites you’ll ever play.
But Streamsong is more than just 54 holes. Between rounds, you can tee it up at The Roundabout short course or roll a few at The Gauntlet putting course, both designed for late-afternoon fun with a drink in hand. Luxury lodging, a top-tier spa, rooftop dining, and lakeside views make it as much about relaxation as it is about golf.
👉 Perfect for: groups looking to pair big-time golf architecture with Florida sunshine, all wrapped in a resort experience that feels both secluded and world-class.
