Preview & Picks: RSM Classic

It’s the final week of the PGA TOUR season.

Who will manage to secure their status for 2026 and who will drop out of the Top 100?

For golfers on the bubble, there’s a lot on the line over the next four days.

There are two courses at the Sea Island resort in Georgia - the Seaside Course and the Plantation Course. Three of the rounds will be played on Seaside.

Notably, Seaside is one of the shorter courses on TOUR, at just a little over 7,000 yards. It also has some of the widest fairways and largest greens, so distance off the tee isn’t as big of an advantage this week - it’ll come down to approach play and putting.

The last four champions at the RSM Classic have all been first-time winners; Maverick McNealy, Ludvig Aberg, Adam Svensson, and Talor Gooch.

The field is a bit better this week than last, mostly because a ton of PGA Tour players live on Sea Island, so the course is in their backyards. The players who live on Sea Island are J.T. Poston, Brian Harman, Harris English, Patton Kizzire, Zach Johnson, Matt Kuchar, Keith Mitchell, Andrew Novak, and Greyson Sigg.

In all, there are 28 golfers in the Top 100 in this field.

There’s also a notable player well outside the Top 100: Kevin Kisner, who’s taking a break from the analysts booth and reuniting with his old caddie to take on the course where he got his first win on TOUR many moons ago.

Shanks Picks

Winner: Brian Harman +2500 Harman has the advantage of being one of the best players in the field and being a resident.

Winner: JT Poston +2700 We haven’t seen JT in a while, but his game sets up nicely for Sea Island (and he lives there) plus he finished T5 last year. If the flatstick is hot, he should be in contention come Sunday.

Winner: Eric Cole +4500 In his last two events this fall, he nabbed two top tens, but he’s also played well at Sea Island the last two times he was there - he finished T15 and T3. We like the number on Cole this week.

Top 20: Joel Dahmen +420 Joel saved his TOUR Card here last season, and he will need to do it again this year - we expect a decent showing.
