Golf Trip Of The Week: Cape Cod National Golf Club

Clam chowder, beautiful surf, rolling dunes, and immaculate golf. Cape Cod National Golf Club is a premier private championship destination in Brewster, Massachusetts, a Brian Silva-designed gem on rolling Cape Cod terrain dotted with kettle ponds, woodlands, and serene New England charm.

Ranked among the top private courses in the region (often top 20 by Golf Digest), it’s accessible primarily to members and overnight guests of the nearby Wequassett Resort and Golf Club, offering pristine conditions, challenging play, and that classic coastal vibe with ocean proximity, fresh seafood, and Cape Cod sunsets.

Preview & Picks: RBC Canadian Open

If you are a fan of National Opens, I’ve got good news for you.

You get to watch them in back-to-back weeks.

Next week, we’ve got the 3rd major of the year - the U.S. Open at Shinnecock.

This week, the TOUR is in Toronto for the Canadian Open.

And if that’s not enough for you, it was announced yesterday that the PGA TOUR, DP World Tour, and the Australian Government will be working together to elevate the Australian Open beginning next year.

It’s a big moment for national opens - and the one this week in Canada is somehow underrated.

It’s unfortunate that it’s played the week before the U.S. Open, otherwise it would probably draw a stronger field, but it does manage to pull in big names every year, all the best Canadian players compete in it, and the Canadian golf fans always show up.

Plus, the Canadian Open has provided some great finishes over the last few years, with Ryan Fox beating Sam Burns in a playoff last year, or Bobby Mac winning with his dad on the bag, and who could forget Nick Taylor’s 72 ft bomb to beat Tommy Fleetwood and win his national open?

Who’s In The Field?

Four of the top ten in the world: Tommy Fleetwood, Justin Rose, Collin Morikawa, and Matt Fitzpatrick.

Other big names include Wyndham Clark, Brooks Koepka, Aaron Rai (Go Birds!) and Robert MacIntyre.

Here are the key stats for The RBC Canadian Open:

  • Anchor bets around SG: Approach. Approach has the strongest correlation with SG: Total at 0.645, so prioritize elite iron players. The key buckets are especially 100–150 yards — 14.2% from 100–125 and 19.4% from 125–150 — plus a meaningful amount from 200–250 yards.

  • This looks like a scoreable birdie event, not a survival test. Scoring average is -1.25, GIR is very high at 72.0%, fairways are wide at 39.2 yards, and penalty strokes are low at 0.19 per round. For outrights, top-10s, and placement markets, upgrade players who can create and convert birdie chances.

  • Putting matters more than scrambling here. SG: Putting has a strong 0.572 correlation, while Around-the-Green is much lower at 0.255. Since players are hitting a lot of greens, don’t overvalue short-game grinders; favor strong approach players with hot-putter upside. Off the tee still matters, but accuracy 0.375 is more useful than raw distance 0.158.

Weekly Bets: RBC Canadian Open

Keith Stewart’s Picks

Wyndham Clark (+2400 DraftKings)

Wyndham Clark should be on everyone’s card in Canada. On one of the toughest tests in golf, Muirfield Village, Clark finished the week in third place and was ranked first SG: T2G and SG: APP! I’m not sure what happened over the weekend after Wyndham missed the cut at Aronimink, but since Philadelphia, Clark has gained an average of 16.8 strokes on the field in his last two starts.

Eric Cole (+5000 Bet Rivers)

If you haven’t looked, please check the forecast; it’s going to get windy this week in Toronto. With that in mind, I’m taking a player who has gained on approach, around the green, with the putter in six straight starts. The results of that stretch? Eric Cole has finished T14-T6-T6-T31-T2-T8 in April and May. Normally a little erratic with the driver, Cole has even kept the big stick positive for two straight events!

Caddyshanks Picks

Sam Burns (+1500 FanDuel)

Sam Burns is one of the best putters on TOUR, which is always a good reason to back someone, but he’s been overdue for a win, and we like him to make good on what he failed to do last year in a playoff against Ryan Fox.

Aaron Rai (+4100 Draftkings)

Two weeks is about all it takes to forget how good this dude’s approach play can be. He also cut his teeth playing in Europe, so the he should be able to navigate the forecasted wind just fine.

Top Canadian - Sudarshan Yellamaraju (+520 DraftKings)

The kid who taught himself how to golf by watching Youtube first popped onto people’s radars with stellar play at The Players, where he finished T5. He’s since cooled off a bit, but we like his number this week to be the Top Canadian.

Where to Invest $100,000 Right Now, According to Experts

Investors face a dilemma. When the S&P 500 finished its worst quarter since 2022 last month, diversifiers like bonds and bitcoin fell too.

Even with the turnaround in mid-April, analysts at Goldman Sachs and Vanguard have projected low-single-digit annualized returns from 2024-2034.

Bloomberg asked where experts would personally invest $100,000 for their March monthly edition.

One answer that surfaced for a second time? Art.

It's what billionaires like Bezos and the Rockefellers have privately used to diversify for decades.

Why?

  1. Appreciation. The ArtPrice100 Index outpaced the S&P 500 overall from 2000 to 2025

  2. Low-correlation. The postwar contemporary segment has moved independently of traditional investments like stocks since ‘95.*

  3. Resilience. A scarce, physical, and global asset class with decades of demonstrated demand.
