Preview & Picks: Mexico Open

The Mexico Open is always a bit of an oddball on the schedule. Slotted between the West Coast swing and the Florida stretch—both packed with iconic courses and marquee events—this one tends to feel like an afterthought.

Greg Norman’s resort course isn’t exactly legendary, but the fact that the PGA Tour still hosts an event on a Norman-designed track is a little funny, given how petty they’ve been about LIV. That said, this tournament is still in its infancy (just the fourth edition), so maybe it’ll grow into something bigger.

Past winners include Tony Finau, Jon Rahm, and Jake Knapp, but this year’s field is looking a little light—only four players from the top 50 in the OWGR are teeing it up.

Expect a bombers’ paradise and a birdie-fest, as conditions look soft and gettable heading into the weekend.

We cashed on Åberg outright last week and hit a top-20 with Finau, so we’re riding the heater. Let’s keep it rolling.
