Preview & Picks: Genesis Scottish Open
Plus: Ai Sunglasses, Golf Trivia, and More.

Good Morning. If someone show’s up to play golf with me wearing those Ai glasses featured down below, I’m making them take the glasses off. People are gonna be using those things to cheat left and right! The tech is out of control. 🤣
Golf If The Roles Were Reversed
Hmmm. Never thought about it this way.

Preview & Picks: Genesis Scottish Open

The Scottish Open acts as the official tune-up for the 153rd Open Championship next week, but unlike other tournaments hosted the week before a major, the Scottish Open doesn’t feel overshadowed.
The field is always loaded - Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy, Xander Schauffele, Collin Morikawa, Justin Thomas, Ludvig Åberg, Viktor Hovland, Tommy Fleetwood, and defending champion Robert MacIntyre are all competing.
Speaking of the defending champ, his win last year in front of his countrymen was electric. If you don’t remember, he drained a birdie putt on the 72nd hole to beat Adam Scott.
The Scottish Open is also what the sickos online like to call “coffee golf.”
That’s because the tee times start very early - you know, since they’re in Scotland and all.
If you want to watch the group featuring Scottie Scheffler, Bobby Mac, and Adam Scott, you’ll have to be up before the rooster crows — they go off at 3:18 a.m. ET.

Shanks Picks

We’ve gone a little cold with the outrights, but the only way out is through, and we’re backing some long shots this week instead of the heavy favorites.
Winner: Robert MacIntyre +3000: How about the hometown kid going back to back in his national open? Betting the storyline here, but also recent form.
Winner: Viktor Hovland +4000: After finishing 3rd at the U.S. Open, Vik got off to a good start at the Travelers before a WD due to neck soreness. His recent social media posts indicate that his neck isn’t bothering him at all.
Winner: Ryan Fox +6500: You may have forgotten that Ryan Fox got his start on the DP World Tour and he’s already won twice this year, including the Canadian Open.
Top Twenty: Adam Scott +195: The 44 year old lost to Bobby Mac on the 72nd hole last year and feels like a safe Top 20 this week.
Top Twenty: Justin Rose +270: His runner up finish at The Open last year proves that if you get the old guy on a links course he can still compete for a title.
Top Twenty: Denny McCarthy +280: How about this stat from Ron Klos? Due to tricky pin positions and subtle slopes, putting from 3-8 feet is the most difficult on Tour. We’re picking Denny for his putter.

Listen To Scottie and Tiger Nerd Out About Links Golf
Hearing Scottie Scheffler nerd out over links golf reminded me a lot of how Tiger Woods once nerded out over it.
Spliced the two together so we can all nerd out together. Excited for the next two weeks

Thing We’d Buy: The Future?
The future is now.
The Oakley x Meta sunglasses can record video, can use Ai to help you read putts, and it can also tell you how fast the wind is blowing.
I can’t imagine they’ll be legal to use on TOUR anytime soon, but holy moly are things getting crazy with Ai.
That’s A Wrap…
