Good Afternoon. Between the U.S. Open and Father’s Day, this might just be the best week of the year. Cheers to all the Dads out there. Speaking of Dads…

Quick Recap: RBC Canadian Open

The Canadian Open is always interesting in one way or another - sometimes good, sometimes bad, but always interesting.
That was the case yesterday as well - especially if you followed Caddyshanks picks this week and got to experience the full Sam Burns roller coaster.
Sam fired a 62 on Sunday and wrapped up his round with the clubhouse lead.
He then had to wait over two hours for Ryan Fox to make the putt that would send the two of them to a playoff.
During that two hour window, there were a few challengers that looked like they’d threaten Burns lead - Ben An, Kevin Yu, and Matteo Manassero among them, but by the end of the day there were only two real challengers: Cameron Young and Ryan Fox.
Cameron Young had a chance to win in regulation with an Eagle on the Par 5 18th, so he went for it, even though it was playing over water and into the wind.
Unfortunately, he hit it too good.
He ended up hitting it over the green (he thought it was perfect when he hit it) and that left him in terrible position. He made bogey and ultimately missed the playoff.
The Most Boring Playoff Ever..Kinda
The playoff between Ryan Fox and Sam Burns was boring… until it wasn’t.
They played the 18th hole four times. After the first two times, they moved the pin from the back to the front, but again they both made the same score.
Trevor Immelman called it a “pillow fight” on the broadcast and without even hearing him (because he was playing) Ryan Fox described it the same way in his post round presser.
“To be honest, Sam and I had a bit of a pillow fight there for three holes. It was some pretty average golf from both of us, some average putting. But that shot I hit on 18 with the 3-wood was probably the best shot I ever hit. It would have been nice to make it, but hey, I’ll take it.”
Sam Burns has been the best putter on tour this year, but he couldn’t make one when it mattered in the playoff. Golf is hard.

Thing We’d Buy: Malbon x The Gap
This one is for my fellow 90’s kids.
The Gap & Malbon have collaborated on a golf collection.
If you came of age in the 90’s, you’ll remember the iconic GAP logo being on the front of every shirt, so this is a nice little play on that for golf.
It looks like the full collection is 20 pieces that includes quarter-zips, polos, hoodies, hats, and some women’s styles as well.
That’s A Wrap…
