Scottie Scheffler made history, the tournament came down to three guys with a chance to tie on the final hole, and fans at home got to see it all with great commentary and noticeably fewer commercials. Maybe there’s light at the end of the tunnel for PGA Tour broadcasts after all.

Scottie Scheffler Makes History

For the first two rounds. It was all about Wyndham Clark and his putting. He couldn’t miss.

On Saturday, Xander Schauffele took command. He ended the day as the 54 hole leader. He was still the leader with nine holes left to play on Sunday.

Brian Harman shot eight-under on moving day and got himself into contention.

It looked like a three horse race.

For a time, you could’ve forgotten all about Scottie Scheffler, who was battling neck issues and didn’t seem to have his best stuff.

Then, on Sunday, Scottie came alive. Going absolutely berserk and shooting a final round 64, tied for the lowest all time in a final round at The Players. 

He went into the clubhouse with the lead at twenty-under.

Three Chances To Tie on 18

Brian Harman missed his birdie putt and had to settle for par.

Xander missed a birdie look from sixty feet. Par.

Finally, Wyndham, who couldn't miss a putt for the first two rounds, lipped out a birdie putt on 18 to force a playoff. Heartbreak Hotel.
