Matt McCarty won three times on the Korn Ferry Tour this year, a remarkable achievement in itself, but it also served as a springboard to even greater success: his first victory on the PGA Tour.

In just his third PGA Tour start, McCarty secured the win, earning spots in both the Masters and the PGA Championship. He was already exempt from the U.S. Open, having led the Korn Ferry Tour points this season.

At one point, Stephen Jaeger came within a single stroke of McCarty's lead, but McCarty responded with a beautiful 3-wood shot, setting up a relatively easy eagle putt to seal the victory.

McCarty is the first player since Jason Gore in 2011 to win three times on the Korn Ferry Tour, earn instant promotion, and then claim a win on the PGA Tour.
