Good Afternoon. It’s Masters week, which means we all suddenly care about the weather in Augusta, Georgia.
Well, good news on that front. Augusta National hasn’t seen any rain for a few weeks, and there’s nothing but sunshine in the forecast this weekend. Expect it to be as firm and fast as ever.

Revisiting The Secret History Of Tiger Woods
Like many golf fans, I am struggling to wrap my head around the Tiger situation.
With everything we’ve learned, it’s interesting to look back at Tiger, his career, and the way the media covered him at various times, through a different lens.
So, when I was scrolling through social media last night, and came across this tweet on X, I was intrigued.
Mr. Fed Speak was correct, it is incredible to re-read this piece by Wright Thompson, which is now 10 years old, in light of what we now know.
“…Tiger is facing the reckoning that all young and powerful men face, the end of that youth and power, and a future spent figuring out how those things might be mourned and possibly replaced. This final comeback, if he ever gets healthy, will be his last.”
Quick Recap: Valero Texas Open

JJ Spaun now has three career PGA TOUR victories: the 2022 Valero Texas Open, the 2025 U.S. Open, and the 2026 Valero Texas Open.
The two most recent wins came on difficult courses and in tough weather. He seemingly has developed a knack for hitting a clutch drive when he absolutely needs it in those conditions.
Remember the drive he hit on the 17th hole in the U.S. Open?
He basically did the same thing on the 17th hole yesterday. Driver to nine feet.
Funny enough, just like at Oakmont, he ended up fending off Bobby Mac, who led for most of the tournament. Unlike last summer, it was JJ Spaun who went into the clubhouse with the lead and watched as Bob tried to catch him.
Bobby Mac tried his best to force a playoff, eagling the 17th to get within one stroke, but came up short when he wrenched his second shot left on the 18th.
He got some very friendly TIO relief, was able to get his third shot onto the green of the par 5, but missed his birdie putt to force a playoff.
Either one of those guys might be a sneaky good Masters pick this week. Something to monitor.
Final Leaderboard: -17 JJ Spaun; -16; Robert MacIntyre, Matt Wallace, Michael Kim; -15; Ludvig Aberg, Andrew Putnam
