Quick Recap: Valero Texas Open
For the first time since his 2023 Open Championship win, Brian Harman is back in the winner’s circle.
This time, along with the trophy and a nice check, he also picked up a brand new pair of cowboy boots. Yep, that’s actually part of the prize for winning the Texas Open. It’s Texas—what else would you expect?
Harman started the day with the lead, but Sunday wasn’t a walk in the park. Conditions were brutal—there were more rounds in the 80s than the 60s—and things got dicey when Harman made double on the 9th, trimming his lead to just one.
But that’s as close as anyone got. Andrew Novak, who was leading the charge, fell apart with seven bogeys over his final 13 holes and settled for third.
Ryan Gerard was one of the few who managed to shoot in the 60s and finished solo second.
Now, all eyes turn to Augusta.

Look at the club he was teeing off with in 1997. 😂 So tiny and went 300+.
The crazy part is the 2006–2018 lull. Seeing it year by year makes 2019 that much more impactful.
Winning majors is so hard.
