It’s a birdie-fest in Maui this weekend and everyone’s invited.

The first signature event of the year has reached the halfway point and Hideki Matsuyama (-16) looks like he’s in mid-season form out there with his new Scotty Cameron putter.

Back to back rounds of 8-under has him one stroke ahead of Colin Morikawa (-15), and two strokes ahead of Corey Conners, Maverick McNealy, Tom Hoge, and Thomas Detry (-14).

Wyndham Clark, Keegan Bradley, Cameron Young, and Harry hall are just 3 shots off the lead at -13. So, we could have a fun finish on Sunday with 10 players within striking range.
Maverick McNealy hit all 18 greens in regulation on Friday. He won the last tournament he played in, the RSM Classic, two months ago.
Sepp Straka made seven straight birdies on the back nine to get himself into contention at 12-under.
