Golf Season Is Over
Plus: Trump Taps Nicklaus, Jeeno Wins Again, and More.

Good Afternoon. This flew under the radar, but Harris English teased a potential PGA TOUR schedule overhaul starting in 2027. We’re talking fewer tournaments and a season starting after the Super Bowl. Check out his comments…

Quick Recap: RSM Classic

Valimaki Becomes First Finnish Winner On TOUR
Sami Valimaki carded a 4-under 66 on Sunday to wrap up the PGA TOUR season as a winner.
He was able to fend off Max McGreevy by one stroke and in doing so became the first player from Finland to ever win on the TOUR. With his victory, he earned a 2 year exemption and entry into the first two signature events of 2026.
Of course, since the PGA TOUR decided to cut full membership from 125 players to 100, the drama and stress of Sunday actually happened out in front of the leader.
If you’re interested in hearing what it feels like to lose your TOUR Card, Justin Lower’s interview after missing the cut is about as raw as it gets.
Who Lost Their Card?
This is not an exhaustive list, but here are some notable names who lost their cards this weekend:
Lee Hodges
Matt Wallace
Matt Kuchar
Joel Dahmen
Brandt Snedeker
Harry Higgs
Alejandro Tosti
Adam Hadwin
Zach Johnson
Cameron Champ
Camilo Villegas
Kevin Kisner
It’s important to note that, like everything the PGA Tour does, it’s not very clear to the casual fan what this even means. Some guys lost their cards, but there are tons of exemptions available to them to keep playing.
Matt Kuchar, for example, could use his career money exemption. Will Zalatoris, who has a “major medical extension” will try to get his career back on track in 2026 after battling back issues.
Players ranked 101-110 get “conditional status”.
Other guys, like Max Homa, Billy Horschel, and Adam Scott are outside the Top 100, but are otherwise exempt. The point is - it’s all a lot for the casual fan to keep track of.
