Quick Update: The Sony Open
Sometimes, all it takes is a new putter.
That was the case for Denny McCarthy, who’s tied with Patrick Fishburn at -10 after two rounds at The Sony Open. Despite being one of the best putters on Tour, Denny made wholesale changes to his putter after finishing 46th at last weeks Sentry.
Looks like it worked. I bet the same would happen for you or me if we bought new putters too. Something to consider.
Anyway, it’s not just the two of them in contention, there are about 15 players within 3 strokes of the leaders, including some major champions.

Billy Horschel, Davis Thompson, and Harris English all missed the cut.
Zach Johnson (-8), Sepp Straka (-8), Tom Kim and Bryan Harman (-7) are within three shots of the lead.
