Good afternoon. It’s Arnold Palmer Invitational week, and while the field is stacked, a few notable names won’t be teeing it up. Jordan Spieth and Jake Knapp failed to qualify, and Tiger Woods is sitting this one out.

On the plus side, Xander Schauffele is back in action after missing the last month with an injury, adding even more firepower to an already strong field.

Should be a great weekend of golf.

Quick Recap: Cognizant Classic

For the first time in nine years, a player went from barely making the cut to winning the tournament.

That player was Joe Highsmith.

On Friday, he needed a five-footer on 18 just to stick around for the weekend. By Sunday, he had made history, posting back-to-back 64s—the lowest weekend score ever recorded at PGA National—to pull off an improbable win.

Jake Knapp, who was chasing the first wire-to-wire victory in Cognizant Classic history, saw his chances slip away on the 11th.

His approach found the water, and though it was only partially submerged, it took him two shots to get out. The triple bogey derailed his round, and he never made another birdie the rest of the way. He ultimately finished T6.

Jacob Bridgeman and JJ Spaun finished tied for second.

Meanwhile, Jordan Spieth and Jake Knapp both failed to qualify for this week’s Arnold Palmer Invitational.

Joe Highsmith gets to play in both the AP Invitational and The Masters as a result of his win this week in Florida.
