Rory McIlroy, who suffered another heartbreaking loss last week at the Irish Open, is one back.
“I feel good — if I look at the leaderboard, the guys up there at the top have played very well over the first couple of days,” said McIlroy, before remarking: “Maybe they’ve not a ton of experience in that position.”
Robert MacIntyre is four off the lead, followed by 2021 champ Billy Horschel, who’s four off. Unfortunately, Tommy Fleetwood is 1-over halfway through the third round, and dropped back to eight strokes behind Baldwin.
