Good Afternoon. Another week, another debate rages on social media. This time, it’s people flipping out about whether or not Akshay Bhatia is anchoring his putter. Here’s the evidence. What do you think?

The Lobster Claw Technique

Can’t say we’ve ever tried this one before, but the idea is to teach people how to feel the release of the club.

We’re a pretty casual golf community, but we agree with everything said in this video. Heckling players while they are trying to win a huge tournament, with their families and friends surrounding the green, is lame behavior.

And people who destroy golf courses should be sent to Guantanamo.

Bhatia Rides Short Game To Victory

Daniel Berger had led the entire tournament… until he didn’t.

He lost it on the final hole.

Still, it felt less like Berger blew it and more like Akshay went out and took it.

It wasn’t a Shane Lowry situation from last week. Berger didn’t make big numbers or implode. He simply treaded water for two days after building a comfortable lead.

Meanwhile, Akshay Bhatia was five back with nine to play.

He birdied four straight from 10 through 13. The biggest moment came at 11, where he poured in a 58-footer right into the heart with perfect pace.

Then on the par-5 16th, he nearly holed his second for albatross and settled for a tap-in eagle.

That eagle pulled Bhatia within one heading to 17.

There, Berger made his biggest mistake of the week - a three-putt at the worst possible time.

Just like that, they were tied on the 18th tee.

Both made par and headed to the first playoff at the API since 1999.

In the playoff, Bhatia hit his approach to about 25 feet. Berger, who had led the field all week in approach play, left his roughly 100 feet away.

Three putts for Berger. Two for Bhatia.

And with that, Bhatia claimed the red cardigan.
