⛳️ Aberg Wins Genesis Invitational
Plus: Golf Gal Of The Week, Reunification, and More Golf News.
Good afternoon. While sitting in the booth during the final round of the Genesis, Tiger Woods weighed in on the ongoing PGA-LIV saga with a surprisingly optimistic take:
"I think things are going to heal quickly," Woods said. "We're going to get this game going in the right direction. It's been heading in the wrong direction for a number of years and the fans want all of us to play together—all the top players playing together—and we're going to make that happen."
Time will tell if it actually plays out that way.

Quick Recap: The Genesis

Back-to-back winners, baby.
For the second straight year, the Caddyshanks brain trust nailed the Genesis Invitational champ—this time with Ludvig Åberg (+2200 pre-tourney odds). But for most of Sunday, it looked like Maverick McNealy was going to run away with it.
McNealy came out firing, dropping a 40-foot bomb to save par on the first and then rattling off eight birdies in 11 holes. Playing alongside him, Justin Thomas summed it up best on X after the round:
Just went back thru the day after thinking about that round by Mav I got to witness first hand today
If we would’ve played a match. I would have been 1 up thru 1….. then lost the next 10 consecutive holes to holes 9&8 😂😂 holy smokes!!!!

Meanwhile, Åberg was three shots back and running out of real estate.
But stars shine when it matters. He birdied 13, 14, and 15 to pull even, then calmly rolled in a seven-footer on 18 to lock up his first signature event win as a pro.
Big things are expected from Åberg, and if the numbers are any indication, he’s already in elite company. Here’s how he stacks up early in his career, per Data Golf:
