Good Afternoon. It’s been an excellent run for sports in our great country.

The World Cup has brought an influx of visitors from all over the globe, and they’re experiencing the United States for themselves.

By all accounts, they’re loving it.

Every day, clips are going viral on social media of people finding joy in the mundane, everyday things that make this country what it is: eating ranch, trying BBQ, seeing Buc-ee’s for the first time, visiting diners, wandering through Walmart, checking out rifles, and everything in between.

It’s been wonderful to see, and Americans have welcomed our guests with open arms.

One German fan named Freddy has gone so viral that J.J. Watt put him up in a suite in Houston, Ella Langley gave him tickets to her concert, and the list goes on.

The Knicks ended their drought, and while we here at Caddyshanks are Philadelphia fans and New York haters, even we can admit how awesome Jalen Brunson is. The Mets still stink, though, never forget it.

The UFC fights last night were stellar, the Canes raised the cup, and this excellent summer of sports is just getting started.

Sports can be a great unifier, if we allow them to be.

In a week filled with great sports stories - Bud Cauley’s is among the best.

As you’ve probably learned already, he was in a terrible car accident in June of 2018 while leaving The Memorial Tournament.

What you may not know, is that the car accident was so bad, and the infections he was getting were so dangerous, that doctors considered removing his entire rib cage.

He was still able to get back to competitive golf pretty quickly - he returned to competition just a few months later, but his body refused to cooperate, and he dealt with complications that required more surgeries.

What ensued was a years-long journey, with no light at the end of the tunnel.

From 2021-2023, he did not compete in a single PGA TOUR event.

His comeback began in 2024, and he started to see some good finishes in the 2025 season, but it wasn’t until yesterday that the 36 year old got his first TOUR win.

It was his 240th start on TOUR.

Cauley’s story is one of incredible resilience and hard work.

As the saying goes, it’s what you do in the dark that puts you in the spotlight.
