Well, yesterday provided a “sports moment of the year” candidate for sure.

Robert MacIntyre, with his dad Dougie on the bag, won the Canadian Open by one stroke over his playing partner Ben Griffin.

The lefty from Scotland has been trending in the right direction for the better part of a year. He was part of the winning European Ryder Cup team in 2023, he finished 8th at the PGA Championship this year, and yesterday he notched his first career victory on Tour.

"Goose bumps," MacIntyre said. "It's incredible. It's a dream of mine to play golf for a living. It's been a dream of mine to win on the PGA Tour. ... I just can't believe I done it with my dad on the bag. The guy's taught me the way I play golf."

"Unbelievable," an emotional Dougie MacIntyre said of being a part of his son's victory, during a televised interview with CBS Sports. "I'm a grass cutter ... it's unbelievable."
