It’s playoff time!

Here’s a quick recap of how they work on the PGA Tour:

It’s a three tournament event, with a progressive cut between each tournament.

Everything kicks off this week at TPC Southwind for the FedEx St. Jude Championship. The top 70 players in Fedex Points are in the field.

Then, next week, we head to Castle Pines in Colorado for the BMW Championship—only the top 50 from Memphis will advance to Colorado.

Then, just the top 30 will reach the final showdown at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta.

Once we arrive at East Lake, the Tour Championship has a staggered start.

A lot of fans hate it, because the number one ranked player gets to start at 10-under, the number two player gets to start at 8-under, etc.

Last year, Viktor Hovland won from the 8-under position.

The year before, Rory McIlroy won from the 6-under position.

Scottie Scheffler is the favorite, followed by Xander Schauffele and Rory McIlroy.
