Quick Recap: RBC Heritage
👑 Winner: Matt Fitzpatrick - $3.6 million.
Gotta love a Sunday golf playoff!
Heading into the final round at Harbour Town, Matt Fitzpatrick led last years champion, Jordan Spieth, by one stroke.
Spieth started his Sunday with four birdies in his first six holes.
Fitz bogeyed #7, giving Speith the lead.
Then, coming in, Fitz birdied #15 and #16 to force a playoff.
In the playoff, Spieth had two chances to put it away on the first two holes, but narrowly missed his putts. This one in particular was a heartbreaker.
"I think if I hit the same putt 10 times, it goes in eight," Spieth said. "It should go left at the very end there on the grain. It just wasn't meant to be."
On the third playoff hole, Fitz grabbed his 9 iron, and threw a dart reminiscent of his bunker shot on 18 at the US Open last summer.
Spieth missed his putt, Fitz tapped in for the win.
One of the most clutch shots in @RBC_Heritage HISTORY by Matt Fitzpatrick on the third playoff hole. 🔥

What about everybody else?
A quick rundown of the rest of the leaderboard.
Patrick Cantlay: He was in a group with Spieth and Fitzpatrick, and finished 3rd at -16. BUT YET AGAIN there was a million tweets about this dudes pace of play. He's still out there playing like an absolute tortoise and it's unacceptable! I mean look at this nonsense:
Happy Gilmore figured out how to bank a putt off a Volkswagen into a collapsed tower which ended up going in to win the ‘96 Tour Championship quicker than Patrick Cantlay was able to make a 4 foot putt at the RBC Heritage which he did not win

Sahith Theegala: T5 this week with Hayden Buckley. Low rookie at The Masters last week. This guy is bound to win on tour soon, but only as long as I don't bet on him and mush him.
Xander Schauffle: Finished solo 4th, but his comments on Rory skipping out were notable. “Rules are the rules. So, I mean, for the most part, a lot of what he wanted is what's happening. And the irony is that he's not here.”
The Two Best Golfers In The World: Rahm and Scheffler both finished in the top 15, which seems like something they can just roll out of bed and do.
Struggling LIV Golfer Wants More Events
… which is kinda funny considering that LIVs whole thing is based on the premise of make more and play less. During the Full Swing doc on Netflix, Dustin Johnson even said, “Someone offers anyone a job doing the same thing they’re already doing but less time at the office and they’re gonna pay them more, pretty sure you’re gonna take it. And something’s wrong with you if you didn’t.”
Anyway, Jed Morgan of the LIV all-Australian team, Ripper GC, said in an interview that there would “… probably need to play a few more events each year to keep yourself sharp.” Which would make sense coming from him, because the guy is low tier out there and has as many dead-last finishes (two) as he does top-25s.
Well, he’s got plenty of opportunity, this upcoming weekend, when LIV heads to Australia on April 21-23 to have their most highly anticipated event yet. Over 20,000 spectators are expected on the grounds each day, and taking notes from TPC Scottsdale, have built a “party hole”, dubbed the “Watering Hole”, on the 12th hole of the Grange Golf Club. It will feature live music and DJs, and plenty of beer! Cheers mate.
USA! USA! USA!
During yesterdays playoff between Spieth and Fitzpatrick, there were chants of "USA! USA! USA!" breaking out from the crowd.
Spieth, being the sportsman that he is, motioned for the crowd to quiet down. The Englishman never blinked, anyway, and went on to win as noted above.
This didn't stop a little debate from spilling over onto social media.
I'm curious to hear our readers take. Lame to chant USA? Cool to chant USA?
Feel free to Tweet us your opinion! @caddy_shanks
If you hate the USA! chants after Fitzy’s miss then you might hate sports. Fan interest is a very good thing! It’s nothing personal, they just have their guy they’re rooting for. As long as it doesn’t impact his play, which it’s not, it makes for an electric atmosphere.

Golf Thing We'd Buy If We Weren't Broke
Limited Edition 50th Anniversary Cobra Aerojet
With this extremely dope video, COBRA golf announced that after 50 years of “impact, influence, and awesomeness” they are releasing their newest AEROJET and AEROJET LS driver in a limited edition black and gold for a mere $599.99.
A black and gold AEROJET probably isn’t guaranteed to add that much carry off the tee, but I can guarantee that it’ll be sleeping in bed with me every night.
That's all folks! See you Wednesday where we'll make some picks for Zurich!
