Quick Recap: Wells Fargo
đź‘‘ Winner: Jason Day - $1.7M
Five years.
Thats how long of a drought Jason Day just broke with his win on Mothers Day.
We know something about breaking droughts around here, since we finally picked a winner in Jason Day this week. We picked him Wednesday at +1600. Hope a reader grabbed him!
His -23 total was good enough to fend off S.W. Kim and Austin Eckroat by a stroke, with his family standing on 18 green.

Jason Day has now won on tour thirteen times. This includes winning the Byron Nelson in 2010 (his first tour win) and winning a major (PGA Championship) in 2015.
His last win was the Wells Fargo in 2018.
Then, he dealt with vertigo, back injuries, and finally, last year, the death of his mother.
It's been a journey for Jason to get back to winning form again.
It's safe to say yesterday was among the most significant wins of his career.
You can read more about what he went through to get back to the winners circle here.
What about everybody else?
Scottie Scheffler: Scottie played some damn good golf in the run up to this weeks major championship. He finished three shy of Jason Day at -20. You just know he will be in contention this upcoming Sunday.
CT Pan: Finished at -21 and had not ONE, but TWO eagles on the back nine. A career best 62 on the day.
Tyrell Hatton: The peoples golfer, the angriest golfer on tour, and one of my personal favorites has been playing so solid lately. I almost like him to win a major this week.
Austin Eckroat & S.W. Kim: Both golfers battled to the bitter end. Eckroat was seeking his first career tour win. He had about 65 feet for eagle on the 18th, but came up short.
On to the PGA Championship.
Recap: LIV Tulsa
We may have given a bad tip or 2 last week when we said Cam Smith and Dustin Johnson aren’t quite at that winning form we normally expect from them. I mean, that part where I said they weren’t playing their best BEFORE this week is true… but seeing as how the 2 of them went to an epic three-way playoff (along with Branden Grace) in the wee hours of Sunday, it would appear that they are indeed in winning form!
DJ took the win against Smith and Grace by nailing a great birdie putt on the 18th hole and got a lovely $4 million, but it was Stinger GC (Branden Grace’s team) who took home the team victory and celebrated appropriately.
This was another huge victory for the LIV golf tour, who saw an estimated 10,000 fans per day, but it was DJ and Cam Smith who really benefited from this latest tournament. Placing 1st and tied for 2nd is a big momentum builder for their campaign at a PGA Championship win, golf’s next major. I’m sure there isn’t a golf fan out there who isn’t at least a little interested to see how guys like DJ, Cam Smith, Brooks Koepka, and Phil Mickelson play at the major this coming week.
LIV golf will return May 26-28 at Trump National Golf Club in Washington DC.
Early Lines: PGA Championship at Oak Hill
The early favorites are, of course, Jon Rahm and Scottie Scheffler. Both at +750 via BetMGM.
Frankly, I'm on board with the Spanish Slam and when he wins this weekend, and other golf websites start using the term "Spanish Slam", I want you all to remember you heard it here first. Jon Rahm +750.
Because it's a major, we get to see the best LIV Golfers like Brooks Koepka, Dustin Johnson, and Phil Mickelson. I don't hate Dustin Johnson +2500.
As always, we will be doing a deep dive on Wednesday and make our official picks then.
Oh, did we mention we like Tyrell Hatton +5000?
Feedback received from players on Oak Hill so far:
“Great if you can carry it 320.”
“Reminds me of Winged Foot.”

Golf Shots Heard Round The World
WHOOPS: The CW Shut off the LIV broadcast during the playoff. Here is what they played instead.
CIVILITY: PGA of America boss wants things to be civil with LIV, but has an interesting way of showing it.
ARCHITECTURE: TFE did a preview of Oak Hill and all of its rennovations. It looks sick.
CHILLY: Looks like it's gonna be wet and chilly this weekend in New York.

We will be attending this event and we cannot wait. No, they didn't give us media passes.
Golf Data
I am not guaranteeing that Jon Rahm will complete a grand slam this year, but I will say he is the best contender we've seen for some time.
Only 1 player is currently ranked in the top-20 on the PGA Tour this season in strokes gained off-the-tee, strokes gained approach and strokes gained putting: Jon Rahm.

Golf Thing We'd Buy If We Weren't Broke
A friend of mine pointed out these putters from Toulon Design and I was instantly sad about my bank account.
Not sure why these are just now on my radar, they’re absolutely the dopest of the dope. For a mere $449.99 I can 3-putt in style with my particular favorite, the Toulon Design San Diego Putter from Odyssey (via the Callaway Golf website).
These putters are completely reimagined to improve performance with these sick ass Deep Diamond Groove mill patterns, split weighting system, a Stroke Lab shaft, and midsize pistol grip. But to me, it’s just a super awesome looking black and green putter that I don’t have enough cash for.
That's all folks! See you Wednesday where we'll make some picks The PGA Championship.
