Peter Malnati Emotional In Win

The year of the underdog continues.

This time with Peter Malnati, who’s twelve-under score and two-stroke victory prove that not everyone who plays a yellow ball stinks at golf.

For those who don’t know, Malnati is a fairly interesting figure in the professional golf landscape.

He’s one of six guys on the PGA Tour player policy board along with Tiger Woods, Adam Scott, Patrick Cantlay, Jordan Spieth, and Webb Simpson.

He’s known for being the guy on the board who represents the everyman. There’s been times where he’s barely retained his tour card and he’s a career grinder. A few more notes on Malnati after his win:

✅ The Valspar Championship was his first win on tour in nine years.

✅ He qualified for The Masters for the first time in his career

✅ He maintains full tour status through 2026

✅ He’ll be in all the remaining Signature Events in 2024

Cam Young came up just a little shy of his first tour victory, again.

This is his seventh runner up finish since becoming PGA tour rookie of the year in 2021-2022.
