Nick Dunlap Makes History

He pulled it off.

One of the best aspects of golf as a sport, is that sometimes a career journeymen, or an amateur, or someone you’ve never heard of, can step up and beat the entire field.

That’s what it’s all about.

Despite a bit of a rough start that caused him to lose the lead, Nick Dunlap was able to tie it with a birdie on the par-5 16th hole. That’s some serious mental fortitude right there.

Then, Sam Burns found water on the 17th hole, and Nick Dunlop closed out with two pars and a one shot victory. Open up the history books.

At last years US Am, Nick Dunlap was struggling at 5 over after 7, when his caddy wrote this in his yardage book:
"This can be an AMAZING story if you let go and LET IT HAPPEN!!!"
