Doin Lines: John Deere Classic

This week marks the third straight week of birdie-fests. If you’re getting sick of reading that term, trust us, we are getting sick of writing it.

The John Deere Classic takes the title for weakest field of the year.

🚩 Location: TPC Deere Run

💰 Purse: $7.4M - Winner gets $1.33M

👑 Previous Winner: JT Poston

⛳️ Field: 156

👀 Watch On: Golf Channel, CBS, ESPN+, Paramount+

The Field at a Glance

Okay, so it’s a weak field, but it’s actually the strongest field in about a decade for this event, so that’s something.

9 of the top 50 in OWGR will be competing.

The betting favorites are Russel Henley +1400 (Fanduel) Cameron Young +1600 (FD) and Denny McCarthy +1600 (FD).

The Course

TPC Deere Run is not very long (7268 yds) and is a par-71.

JT Poston won the event at -21 last year. (Birdie-fest)

Essentially, the fairways are easy to hit, and then the pros have short-irons or wedges into the bentgrass greens.

For the record, we do not recommend tailing us on golf parlays. Golf gambling is hard enough as it is. With that being said… let’s ride.

Womens US Open

The LPGA is heading to Pebble Beach for the Ladies US Open, and frankly, it should give us better golf to watch than the John Deere Classic.

Our pick, Rose Zhang, shot the course record (63) at Pebble last year.

We locked her in Monday at +1200.

Watch her stuff this wedge so well that the tee flies back into her pocket and take it as a sign.

This will also be the final US Open for Michelle Wie West, who is retiring.

You may remember her younger years, as she was a star in her own right.

She turned pro at age 15, won her first major at 24, and then kind of fizzled.

Her and Rose Zhang are like ships passing in the night, one star retiring, the other soaring. They even played a practice round together this week.

Oh, and one other bet to consider for this weekend: Nelly Korda +2000

Golf Shots Heard Round The World

Sick Shot, Dude.

Matt Fitzpatricks brother, Alex, hit a great shot on his way to qualifying for The 2023 Open Championship. (Two weeks away!)

The brothers Fitz will get to play a major championship together.

Golf Thing We'd Buy If We Weren't Broke

We can’t remember if we included this bad boys before, or not, so we are throwing them in (again, maybe). We don’t even know if they are available in the USA.

That's all folks! See you Friday.
