Good afternoon! Welcome to Shanks. We hope you had a wonderful Fall weekend filled with beers, golf, bets, and fantasy football. Oh and pizza, too. Can’t forget about the pizza.

Trivia: There have been only four partnerships in Ryder Cup history who have never lost or tied a match together; Arnold Palmer & Gardner Dickinson, Jack Nicklaus & Tom Watson, Arnold Palmer & Billy Casper and what other pairing?
Answer Below.

Super Quick Recap: Fortinet & BMW Championships
Fortinet Recap: The Sahith Theegala Show
Sahith was a man on a mission Sunday. With a gaggle of 35 friends and family members in attendance, he put on a show and claimed his maiden victory on the PGA Tour.
Sahith Stat: He missed more than 50% of the fairways, but still hit 75% of the greens in reg.
He’s kind of a wild man out there, he seems to embrace everything that happens, and it turns out he has a bit of that Jordan Spieth-esque magic about him. Recovery shots are no big deal to Sahith Theegala. We really regret not betting him, even at the low pre-tourney number.
Justin Thomas: The other storyline of the weekend. Justin Thomas finished in 5th place and had a pretty encouraging showing ahead of the Ryder Cup. He never really threatened Theegala’s lead, but he seemed pretty encouraged nonetheless.
BMW Recap: Team Europe Shows Great Form
Ryan Fox beat ‘em all though! He became the first golfer from New Zealand to ever win the BMW PGA Championship. He had a great moment with his caddy afterward too.
Team Europe is looking great. All twelve members of the team made the cut, and seven of them finished in the Top 10.
Now It’s All Eyes On The Ryder Cup
There’s a break in the PGAT Schedule this week ahead of the Ryder Cup, which is just 11 short days away. Team USA has been resting and hopefully not getting too rusty. Team Europe has been competing and are definitely riding a wave of momentum into the biennial event.
Ryder Cup Odds:
USA To Win: -110
Europe To Win: +125
Tie: +1100
5 Great Golf Videos Featuring
NFL Players
We can all admit that golf really isn’t that much of an athletic endeavor, and many have argued about whether or not it’s even a sport… hey even Max Homa said it! And it’s not surprising to see that NFL pros, who are crazy athletic, love the game of golf (and some are even pretty good). So let’s rank some of our favorite golf videos on YouTube, featuring our favorite NFL stars!
5. Derek Carr Hits A Hole In One – … and nobody was around to see it. NFL QB, Derek Carr, hit his first hole in one in Las Vegas when he was still on the Raiders. Do we believe him? I mean, he’s a man of God, something tells me that he wouldn’t lie. But everyone reading this has that ONE FRIEND that swears this happened to him. Not sure if we believe yah there, chief.
4. Longest Drive: Pro Bowl Skills Showdown – Ok so not every NFL pro is great at golf, but it sure is funny to see them try. And watching some of these massive human beings smash a ball 300+ yards makes us feel bad about ourselves. Speaking of the pro bowl, why did the NFL start doing this? Is this what they think we wanted?
3. Josh Allen and Sam Darnold feat. Bob Does Sports – We admit, this video is quite long (1 hour and 13 minutes) but it’s worth it. There’s laughs, there’s golf drama, and there’s way too much alcohol intake. If we ever had the opportunity to play golf with Josh Allen and Sam Darnold, we would hope that it would end up something like this.
2. Eagles Swing Ratings – This is the kind of content that we wish we could see from our favorite football teams. Philly legends, young and old, teeing it up on the golf course and watching them fly. Makes a person all the more excited for a Sunday morning of golf, and an afternoon of rooting for your favorite football team. ‘
1. Tom Brady Drone Hole Out – We considered putting this somewhere else on the list because of all the controversy that it’s fake. Tom Brady is the GOAT though. And if you know anything about the guy outside of football, you know he’s actually a great golfer. That being said, it’s the drone shot, the camera angle, the excitement, the views of the course… it’s damn near perfect.
Golf Shots Heard Round The World
Shoutout To Good Dads
We felt compelled to call special attention to these two clips. The first, Sahith Theegala’s Dad cheering for his son. You think he cares?

Second, Sahith himself, talking about his parents, and how much he appreciates them. Of course, not everyone is this fortunate, but man… gotta celebrate it when you see it. The world can never have enough good dads.
This is a cool commendation from the grateful son of proud father.

Golf Thing We'd Buy If We Weren't Broke
For both the Ryder Cup and the Solheim Cup, competitors for Team USA will get to wear these custom Air Max 1 Golf shoes that have that signature red, white, and blue that Americans love to honor. If you look closely, the words “Prestige. Tradition. Passion.” are inscribed on the blue insoles. And if you look even closer, you’ll see that there are small stars on the inside of the iconic Nike Swoosh. Sweet.
Unfortunately, no matter how closely we searched the internet, these shoes are not currently for sale, but this is America! And in America, everything has a price (or eventually will have a price seeing as how these shoes will be available soon). Whatever the price, that we assuredly do not have that cash, but we would 1776% wear them on the golf course if we did.
Keep tabs on Hypebeast.com for updates on this prestigious release.
That’s all folks! See you Wednesday.
Trivia Answer: Francesco Molinari & Tommy Fleetwood.
