Cam Davis has become the first golfer to win The Rocket Mortgage Classic twice.

Playing just ahead of the leader, Akshay Bhatia, Davis birdied the 17th hole to tie him. Then, he made a clutch par on the final hole, finishing at 18-under.

It looked for a minute like we’d be heading to a playoff.

Then, Bhatia, who hadn’t three-putted once the entire tournament, unfortunately did so on the 72nd hole. That bogey dropped him into a three-way tie for 2nd place with Aaron Rai (our pick 😢), Min Woo Lee, and Davis Thompson and handed Cam Davis the victory.

Cameron Young, who was in contention for most of the tournament, lost his composure on the back nine yesterday. After a wayward drive, he snapped his driver shaft in frustration. He ended up finishing 6th on the leaderboard and dead last in sportsmanship.

Remember those college kids and other amateurs we mentioned? Luke Clanton from Florida State University played the best of the bunch, shooting 14-under for the tournament and finishing tied for 10th place.
