Monday Golf Recap: Wyndham Clark Wins, Early Lines for AT&T Byron Nelson, and more.
Happy Monday to ya, and welcome to Shanks. Reading us is quick, fast, and satisfying. We are the Mcdonalds Drive-through of golf news. It's possible that reading this newsletter three days a week is slightly healthier though, but only slightly.
Here's what we've got for ya today:

Quick Recap: Wells Fargo
👑 Winner: Wyndham Clark - $3.6M
Golf had to compete with the NBA playoffs and the Stanley Cup playoffs this weekend.
I'm sure that'll impact the ratings, but don't let it impact your estimate of Wyndham Clarks win on Sunday. He was awesome in his first ever tour win.
Despite a bogey on the first hole Sunday, Clark was in total control all day and finished with -19 for the tournament. Just two shy of touching Rory's course record of -21.
Whenever we get a first time winner on tour, I always like to look back at when the player first got their tour card. In Wyndham's case, it was 2017.
That's six straight years of working his tail off before he finally got a win.
He now joins a list that includes Max Homa and Rory McIlroy, getting their breakthrough wins at the Wells Fargo Championship.

What about everybody else?
Jordan Spieth: Missed the cut and was back in Texas before dinner time Saturday night.
Xander Shauffle: Played well, finished in 2nd. There was just no catching Wyndham Clark, who was a man on fire this weekend.
Tyrell Hatton: His fourth top ten finish this season. He plays well at difficult courses, but also I just love how emotional he is all the time.
Justin Thomas: JT is coming up on the one year anniversary of his last tour win (The PGA Championship) and I'm sure that's weighing on him. He was a shot off the lead with two rounds to go and ended up playing them -1 for a T14 finish. Just outside of our Top Ten bet for him.
Sahith Theegala: Between him and Akshay Bhattia, our perma long-shot picks, I don't know who will get their first win first. Sahith finished T-53 and Akshay finished T-46. The breakthroughs are coming.
Rory McIlroy: Barely made the cut. Not the encouraging bounce back some Rory fans wanted to see.
Preview: AT&T Byron Nelson
In an effort to spice up the Byron Nelson ahead of the PGA Championship, they have added a party hole this year. The 147yd Par 3 7th hole at TPC Craig Ranch has been surrounded by stadium seating.
Scottie Scheffler and Jordan Spieth will be headlining the event and looking to fend off 2x repeat champ KH Lee.
This is a course the pros usually tear up - Lee shot -25 and -26 during his two wins. Here are the early lines via BetMGM.
Golf Shots Heard Round The World
International Crown: Thailand won the LPGA team event. USA Finished 3rd.
Top 50: With his T14 finish at Quail Hollow, Rickie Fowler has earned his way back into the top fifty golfers in the world.
Good Good Championship: This is pretty cool. Good Good (those famous Youtube Golfers) are using their platform to host a tournament with a $100,000 purse. It starts today.
Vandalism: In an act that certainly warrants the death penalty, some vandals used chemicals on the greens at The Detroit Golf Club, home of the Rocket Mortgage Classic.
DOJ Investigating Trump: The Dept of Justice has announced that they are investigating Trumps ties to LIV Golf League.

Consider us FIRED UP for the next major. The PGA Championship at Oak Hill, NY.
Rumor has it we may be giving away not ONE, but TWO Scotty Cameron putters that weekend on Instagram.
