Doin Lines - Arnold Palmer Invitational
Unlike last week, this weeks field is LOADED. 44 of the top 50 golfers will be competing at Bay Hill in Florida and we're fired up about it here at Shanks HQ.
Two quick notes on Bay Hill
The par 3's are amongst the longest and most difficult on tour - all 200+ yds
Wind is usually a big factor in this tournament and they say Friday will be windy
The fun part about difficult par 3's with wind?
The pros are still tempted to seek pins and go for birdie, but it's probably better course management to go for the middle of the green and play it safe.
Now, we gamble.
This is a tough one. Here are the lines for outright winner, top 5, and top 10.

You can see all the lines over at DK Sportsbook.
Our picks:
Jason Day (+3000)
Keith Mitchell (+5500)
Wyndham Clark (Top 10 +1200)
Beau Hossler (Top 10 +1400)
As always, we will be back Friday with an update. That's usually we convince ourselves to throw down on a guy storming up the board, only for him to falter on Sunday.
Looking at you, Justin Suh.
Arnold Palmer, The Drink
Everyone knows that refreshing, classic mix of iced tea and lemonade, but how did it come to be named after a golfer?
Because he invented it, dumbass.

Story goes like this: his wife used to make iced tea all the time, one day he approached her with the idea to put some lemonade in it. He loved it! He'd take it on the course with him in a thermos.
Then, one day, at a restaurant in Palm Springs, he was explaining to the waitress how to make it. A woman at the table next to him overheard, then said "I'll have what he's having, I'll have the Arnold Palmer.
The rest is history.
Then, in 2002 Arizona Tea purchased the rights to the drink, which is why you see the cans with his face on it. The reportedly sold 500 million cans in 2015. Wild.
Oh, and if you add vodka to it - it's called a John Daly.
4 Famous Foods at Famous Courses
You pull up to the turn after getting SMOKED by the front 9. Clearly 1 or 4 drinks hasn’t fixed the problem that you do in fact kinda suck at golf… so you’re ready to house some food before you make the back 9 your bitch.
Here’s 4 famous foods around the country that golfers have been fueling up on while on the course to get their mojo back.

The Burger Dog
Burgerdog at the Olympic Club in San Francisco, California. This simple story that lead to one of the most classic yummys out on the course has me thinking, why isn’t this more readily available at courses near me??
Peanut Butter and Bacon Sandwich at Mountain Lake in Lake Wales, Florida. You can order this creation seemingly concocted by me and my college roommates after 2 joints in the morning and 2 joints at night. The sandwich is so famous, in fact, that it’s also served at Fishers Island Club, Mountain Lake’s sister club in New York.
Brisket Tacos at Escondido Golf & Lake Club in Horseshoe Bay, Texas. Apparently, the meat is smoked daily over white oak and pecan harvested from the property. It’s then brined for two days and smoked for another 24 hours before getting sliced and served on warm tortillas. Lord have mercy.
The mediocre hot dog at your local muni… Anywhere, America. You think this game is a joke? I’ll eat like 18 of these if it means I’ll be bending this course over a barrel and showing it the 50 states. Remember the “Secret Stuff” in Space Jam that got the toons all blasted and ready to rock? It was actually just a local muni dog! Go figure.
A Lesson on Golf Etiquette
Don't do this. Yes, she already hit the putt, but anyone who's played golf for a while will look at you like you're a total asshole. Putt great, staredown epic.
Cross from behind, people! Don’t walk directly in someone’s line. 🫣
