Xander Schauffele is a major champion.

It didn’t come easy either. Bryson Dechambeau was playing two holes ahead of Schauffele and birdied the 18th to tie him at 20-under. The pressure was on.

Xander Schauffele had to stand in the bunker and hit a very difficult second shot in crunch time. He pured it, chipped to about six feet or so, then poured in the birdie putt to grab his first major championship. He’ll never have to answer questions of “can he do it?” ever again.

Also, credit to Bryson as well for competing his tail off at the last two majors. There’s been a ton of chatter about whether the LIV guys have lost a step or not, due to playing less competitive golf, but you can say for certain Bryson Dechambeau hasn’t.
