Back to Canada.

Last year, in case you forgot, the Canadian Open had one of the most exciting finishes of the year.

Hometown hero Nick Taylor defeated Tommy Fleetwood in a playoff after hitting a 72 foot bomb for eagle.

It was electric. You can relive it here.

Rory McIlroy has won the Canadian Open twice and is the favorite in the field.

News: Lexi Thompson To Retire

She first played in the Women’s US Open when she was 12.

Yesterday, she chose to announce her retirement from full time golf at Lancaster Country Club, where the 2024 US Women’s Open is being held.

That’s a little poetic, if you ask me, and a great way to wrap up a career which features 15 wins.

She said she’s been considering semi-retirement for a couple years, citing mental health as a primary reason.

“I think we all have our struggles, especially out here,” she said.

“Unfortunately in golf you lose more than you win, so it’s an ongoing battle to continue to put yourself out there in front of the cameras and continuing to work hard and maybe not seeing the results you want and getting criticized for it. So it’s hard.”
