⛳️ Super Quick Update: Ryder Cup
Patty Ice brings the drama.
Good Afternoon! Welcome to Shanks. We are reporting to you live from Golf Twitter™️ and the fans aren’t thrilled with the coverage of the Ryder Cup. The Networks throw “playing through” across the screen during key moments, they miss key shots and important putts, and the announcers have to catch you up. It’s a poor viewing experience. They’ve gotta be better than this. Now, on to the good stuff.
Here's what we've got for ya today:

Super Quick Update: Ryder Cup
Day 1: At the opening bell, Europe came out swinging. They finished 4-0 in Friday morning Foursomes (alternate shot) and closed the day with a 2.5-1.5 record in afternoon Four-ball (best ball). It seemed like every other shot Europe was holing a chip, or someone (Jon Rahm most likely) was pouring in an Eagle putt. It was the most lopsided performance ever for the US team, who failed to win a single match on the day.
Day 2: At the closing bell, America has a glimmer of hope, but it didn’t look like that would be the case after Europe won the morning session 3-1. That score also included Scottie Scheffler and Brooks Koepka getting their butts whipped in a Ryder Cup record setting loss of 9&7.
Yet, despite the bad morning, The USA fought back in the afternoon. Rallying to their own 3-1 session and bringing the whole Cup within striking distance.
They did this off the backs of Max Homa, Brian Harman, and Patrick Cantlay, who hit three clutch putts to steal a point from Europe, and give the US a chance on Sunday.
Europe leads 10.5-5.5 entering Sunday's 12 Singles matches at Marco Simone.
Comebacks of this size are possible, as Americans found out the hard way in 2012 at the Medinah. Where they coughed up a 10-6 lead.
Cantlay Causes Fracture? Maybe Not
Saturday morning, after the US was pretty beaten down, a rumor started circulating through the world of golf. The rumor was based on the below tweet from Jamie Weir at Sky Sports.
Understand from several sources that the US team room is fractured, a split led predominantly by Patrick Cantlay.
Cantlay believes players should be paid to participate in the Ryder Cup, and is demonstrating his frustration at not being paid by refusing to wear a team cap.— Jamie Weir (@jamiecweir)

Paul Azinger even brought it up on the live broadcast, calling the reports “clickbait, crummy stories”. Social media debates erupted.
It was also apparent that word of the Hat-gate had quickly spread through the European crowds. They taunted Cantlay for the rest of the day with it.
“Hats off for your bank account” is the chant to Patrick Cantlay on the 16th. What a scene. #RyderCup

It didn’t phase Patrick Cantlay one bit, as he single handedly stole a point from Europe over the course of the final three holes, culminating in a 43 foot birdie try on the 18th.
Unbelievable finish. The rumors, the hats, the putts, the bad blood. Somehow the Ryder Cup always delivers. We got life!

As for the reports of Fractures on the US team caused by Hat-gate, well, they sure didn’t seem fractured as they all waved their hats back at Europe after the putt sank. Cheeky, we fink.
Update: Rory was not happy about how long Joe Lacava stood in his line while waving his hat and confronted him about it in the parking lot.
THIS IS AWESOME! THE RYDER CUP FOUND LIFE TODAY!

Golf Joke
This is a good one to use on your buddies when they hit a poor shot.
"must've been the sh*t attached to the end of your club"
Buddy precedes to look at the face of their club for dirt or something.
"No the other end!"
An old one, but a good one, in the right moment.

The TaylorMade x Malbon collection that dropped on Tuesday was pretty clean. A lot of stuff has sold out already, but there’s still some fun stuff worth taking a gander at.
That’s all folks! See you Monday for a full Ryder Cup recap.
